QUESTION CORNER - BELIEFS AND VALUES

1. What proof is there that there is a God?
2. With all the scientific proof of the evolution of man, how do we know that God is real?
3. Is pre-marital sex a mortal sin?
4. Is abortion a mortal sin?
5. We are raised to think and speak for ourselves, to make our own decisions. Why does the Church try to take those rights away from us? Why does the Church try to dictate what we do? We have the right of individuality
6. Is swearing (as in swear words) a sin?
7. In Revelations it talks about how the Earth will succumb to trail and tribulation. My belief is that we are already involved in the trials and tribulations of the last days. What are your beliefs on this matter?
8. If aliens were supposed to be unreal why did God create all that space out there?
9. Why is the theory of Evolution rejected by the Catholic Church? Is it possible that the Creation story and Darwin’s theory could both fir together in some way?
10. Why is pre-marital sex wrong in God’s eyes, when it has nothing to do with anything evil or wrong - it’s just an expression of love and commitment to another being of marriage?
11. Is the pill agreed to by the church for contraceptive reasons? If no, is it agreed to for medicinal purpose too - even if it prevents pregnancy?
