An inspirational poem written by one of my Year 11 students in 1998. Dear S.O - if you read this one day, please know that I am very proud of you.
Asking For A Prayer
I'm stuck in a rut |
Four walls surround me |
I'm calling for help |
But people cannot see. |
I'm falling to the ground |
Someone speaks my name |
I turn around |
And a man is there |
He calls out |
My friends and I will help |
Two men stand near Him |
Who are you, I ask |
I am God |
This is Jesus, my son |
And this is the Holy Spirit |
What is the problem |
I don't know which way to turn |
I shall give you knowledge |
I can't work out my problems |
I shall give you experience |
I can't see where I'm to go |
I shall give you imagination |
I can't go on |
I shall give you hope |
People say I care only for myself |
I shall give you mercy |
But how do I use everything you have given me |
I shall give you action |
What do I do now? |
Go and live your life, |
Follow my word and you will be saved |
What if my obstacles are too much |
My child there is one more thing I give |
I give you WILL! |
Will to carry on my teachings |
and do right by me. |
Child , get up and go forth |
You are a child of the Lord, |
and no obstacle is too great. |
Thank you, I now know where |
to turn. |
