An Interior Call from God

The following is a third person narrative, outlining an experience of God's love which occurred to me out of the blue.

" As he walked into his room he felt calm and yet indifferent. As he knelt down to pray he made the sign of the cross almost oblivious to its significance and meaning. His thoughts appeared to be elsewhere, possibly on what he had been doing previously. Why had he even decided to go to his room and pray? A few seconds later, almost in tears of joy, he would understand the purpose. For the proof of the reality of this feeling and the genuineness of its believed Author had been confirmed by the extreme, sudden change in attitude, from one of indifference and thoughtlessness to a deep and loving gratitude. It would be a feeling of words communicated but not heard with the ear, but rather felt from within..." I love you" he had felt, and the Author, he knew, had been God".

I wrote the above to express my experience of mystery. It happened quite a long time ago now but it truly was an experience, completely undeserved.
