One popular
webpage criticizing the Catholic Church states "To
speak out today about the Roman Catholic faith (and the
Roman Catholic Church, Vatican, and Papacy) is not a
popular thing to do." If that were true, there would
be no need for pages like this. Lux Veritatis is dedicated to explaining Catholic doctrine and the philosophy that supports the Churchs teaching. Defending the Rock is a feature specifically dedicated to answering evangelical questions and misconceptions many Catholics face each and every day. My personal goal is to help those who are not sure how to answer difficult questions from evangelists from other faiths. This page cannot work without you. Let me know your concerns and questions. Tell me what the critics of Catholicism are telling you! Who to trust Those wishing to convert or save people are concerned largely with numbers. Many might truly have your best interest in mind, but most will not be happy until you accept their faith and reject the Catholic Church. Two key words that when spoken by a Protestant should raise red flags all over the place: "Catholics believe ." Remember, their main goal is to get you to LEAVE the Catholic Church. Hence, many profess falsehoods about the Church as a means to achieve that goal. Ask yourself this question, if you want to know what the Catholic Church teaches, would you ask a good, educated practicing Catholic? Or someone who shows up at your door representing another Church? If you hear anything about the Church that does not sound right, no matter who it comes from, check it out in the Catechism of Catholic Church or the Code of Canon Law. |
