People drive out, or exorcise demons from possessed people. Exorcists are still common in the Church today; each diocese has at least one, but they are never identified. Exorcists are ordained ministers. Untrained laymen should not attempt formal exorcisms, but they do regularly perform small exorcisms - blessing themselves with holy water at church, crossing themselves, praying for God to watch over them - all ways to cast away the devil.
