chaplet

Chaplet literally means little crown, and refers to devotional prayers counted on a string of beads. Chaplets usually consist of the repetition of a sequence of prayers and meditation on a certain theme. An example of a specific chaplet is the Rosary, which calls the person praying it to meditate upon events in the lives of Jesus and Mary through praying the "Hail Mary", the "Our Father" and the "Glory be". Chaplet often is used to describe a small version of a rosary, more "bracelet-sized" than "necklace-sized".
