Son of Mauricius. Little is known of his early life. 78th pope. Restored many churches in Rome. Opposed the Monothelite heresy. Dispersed a house of Nestorian monks. Received the submission of Reparatus, archbishop of Ravenna, to the papacy, ending a schism.
